How to install an eSIM on Android

Installing a Stealthsim eSIM on Android takes about two minutes, but the menu path differs slightly by manufacturer. The flow below works on stock Android (Pixel) and adapts easily to Samsung One UI, OxygenOS (OnePlus), MIUI / HyperOS (Xiaomi), and ColorOS (Oppo / Realme).

Step-by-step install (Pixel / stock Android)

1. Open Settings → Network & internet. Navigate to Settings, then Network & internet, then Mobile network (or SIMs on newer Android). The exact path differs slightly by manufacturer.
2. Tap + Add or Add eSIM. Choose 'Add SIM' or 'Add eSIM' or 'Download a SIM instead'. On Samsung phones the wording is 'Add mobile plan'. On OnePlus and Xiaomi the option appears under SIM card manager.
3. Scan the QR code. The phone opens a camera viewfinder. Scan the QR provided by Stealthsim. The carrier profile downloads in 5–15 seconds.
4. Activate the new SIM. Confirm activation. Label the SIM (Travel, country name, etc.) for easy identification.
5. Enable data roaming. In the new SIM's settings, enable Roaming or Data roaming. Set the new SIM as the active data line for your destination.

Manufacturer-specific paths

Samsung Galaxy

Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → Add mobile plan → Scan carrier QR code. On older Samsung firmware the option is under SIM card manager.

OnePlus (OxygenOS)

Settings → Mobile network → SIM management → + Add eSIM. eSIM is regionally gated on OnePlus — phones sold in mainland China and some Southeast Asia markets have eSIM disabled by the OS.

Xiaomi (HyperOS / MIUI)

Settings → SIM cards & mobile networks → SIM card settings → Add eSIM. Xiaomi disables eSIM in global ROMs for several markets; the feature is present but the menu may be hidden.

Motorola

Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Download a SIM. Motorola flagships (Edge series) support eSIM in Europe, North America and parts of Latin America.

Switching active data line

After install, set the Stealthsim eSIM as the active mobile data line. On Pixel: Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → choose the Stealthsim SIM → toggle Use SIM ON and Mobile data ON. Other Android skins follow the same logic with different labels.

Troubleshooting

Manual activation code

If scanning fails, every eSIM provider sends the activation code as text. The format is typically LPA:1$SM-DP+_ADDRESS$ACTIVATION_CODE. Paste it into the manual entry field — the eSIM downloads identically.

eSIM downloads but no signal

Reboot once. Confirm Data Roaming is enabled on the Stealthsim eSIM specifically (Android tracks roaming per-SIM). Confirm Airplane mode is off. If still no signal, you may not be in a country where the underlying carrier roams — Stealthsim cannot fix this remotely.

eSIM not appearing after install

On Samsung and Xiaomi, eSIMs sometimes need a full reboot before appearing in the SIM manager. Power off the phone completely (not just lock screen) and turn it back on.

Privacy note

Android stores the eSIM profile in the device's embedded UICC. The OS does not ping Google or Stealthsim during normal operation. The underlying carrier sees a foreign roaming eSIM connecting, with no link to your identity if you paid via crypto from a non-custodial wallet.
